I would go with the speciality rotor just keep rotor rpms as low as possible, just above the point where kernels are staying in the heads. But I think that is what you are allready doing.
Is the 1660 mounted with keystock grates??
I had a 1460 with standard rotor and plane grates, and upgrated to speciality rotor and keystock grates, and it was like riding on the back of a tiger...
I must say that I am in a area with a lot of moisture, so i love the keystock grates, but in very dry crops it can damage the straw.
I have no experience with Gordon bars.
