We ran a 1020 flexhead locked up one year in wheat. It will do the job, but certainly not ideal. Make sure you have the correct pulley for running the knife at 500 RPM.
Flexheads have the knife mounted too far from the auger. You need to cut a little extra straw to keep them feeding. That slowed us down more than the difference between a 25' and a 30' head. Unless you end up maxing the hydro out in second gear with the rigid head, I would use it.
