Which adaptor are you using 871 or 872? It could be that you need a wedge kit between your feederhouse and adaptor. Or the springs are to tight and the cutterbar is floating to light causing you to let the adaptor down to far and pushing dirt. Look into changing the feedpan to one off of a 873 if you cut alot of lowpoded crops. They will bolt right on. Its the plate that is bolted on under the cutter bar and on the 873 it set ontop of the cutter bar.
