Sorry I didn't look back here sooner. I run them(spirals) in beans, wheat and barley. They move tough material through very well. This involved the removal of the rotor and welding in different mounts, then balancing. The company doing it was Hart Mfg. of Grafton, N.D. They rigged it up for running edible beans such as navies, which are known for tough vines. It was done when I bought the 1480 and I didn't know it. (I was new to IH) In the mean time, I had bought the Disrupter set-up and never used it. They're still for sale, at a very negotiable price.
