I have had the same problem with canola. I have found that most of my losses are comeing from the header and the feeder house. after spending hours in the field adj sieves and rotor speeds I have found that the rock trap door will leak a lot if not sealed corectly. Another thing I replace was the grain seals on the sieves. I also put thin weather strip around all the side shieds on the rotor inspection covers. And as for settings I have found that the harder I push that combine there seems to be less on the ground. I still see what seems to be alot behind the maching still. But I have cut my losses down alot just by sealing up the feed housing.
