How much trouble is it to change the belts on the left side of the 460 walker combine?

It looks like belts are stacked six deep. Is this really the case?

If interested in buying a used one, what are the main things to check for? It looks like the value of used ones has really dropped. J Deere and Case can't come close to price matching. Any particular reason this has happened?
