6600 combine clutch

Hi all,

Last night the clutch on my dad's 1978 6600 with posi-torq would not disengage. When the cluch pedal was depressed a slight growl could be heard underneath and the transmission oil light would not come on. Is this a bad throw out bearing or something more serious? Can the bearing be changed by myself or something a qualified mechanic do?
