1st # indicates the # of row. 443=4 row, 643 = 6 row, etc.

2nd 2 numbers indicate the series and speacing.

Those ending in 3 are 30" rows, those ending in 4 are wide rows. For example a 1243 would be a 12 row-40 series, 30" row head. A 644 would be 6 row-40 series, wide row (36" or 38") head.

Row crop heads were only made for a while, subsitute the middle (series) 4 with a 5 to make a row crow-for example while an 843 is an 8 row corn head, and 853 would be an 8 row row crow head.

Clear as mud? :)
