YES this is important to the strength of the drive system. 450 ft lbs is minimum. 550- 600 is better and then retorque after 8 hours and again at 50 hours then once per season.. Also retorque wheel lug bolts while you are at it. Bet no ones done that huh? Tip. One can replace cyl. drive belt by spreading with belt or two sharpened 2X4's upper pulley and letting off hyd pressure on bottom and pushing inner sheave in and thus not need to remove big ole nut on main shaft.
