Oily heads on R50

Just looking over my combine and found 2 of the heads in the box have quite a bit of soybean fuzz and oil on them, the others are all clean. What is the best method of cleaning them, air or hot water(that is not readily available). Is the the source likely just a valve cover gasket, the dust doesn't smell like diesel so I don't think it is injectors. This is my first experience with Duetz engines. Thanks
