Hi Rolf

I only noticed a couple of days ago that you replied to my query on the feeder house mod thanks. We have completed the job on our old machine and looking forward to putting it to work in the next couple of weeks (well if this cold and wet weather would go away) first outing will be oats or ryegrass. Sure are hoping for some big improvements in grass feeding from previous years, problems in the past have been popping the stone door (with hump) with damp clumps of material (a real pain in the arse getting in and out of the cab to reset the door). Our crops are looking very good and hoping to test the limits of the R50 in 10+MT/ha in irrigated wheat. Hopefully the shoe can handle it as this has been the limitation in the past. If we can do 2-2.5mph (full hydro in first gear) pushing a 20ft head I will be happy. I think I have done all the thrashing improvements I can now to our machine and with new augers throughout it should (fingers crossed) go well putting 1000+MT through her for the season.

A question, I have been looking at farmhub.com.au for used Gleaner machines exploring the idea of an upgrade. However numbers are limited with many machines pre 1996. I am interested in a post 1999-2000 painted R62. I was wondering if there are many dealers in your area that maybe good to contact. One problem is the header/front, we will only require 22-27ft at the maximum. The pictures I see of these great machines with 36ft MacDons are a little over the top for our smaller fields.

I do hope your harvest is going well and your improvements to your R62 have made it a better machine, I really enjoy reading about your modifications.

Cheers

Hamish
