Bought a L3 combine (sn 28537) at auction last Saturday. Has orange stripe,
but Deutz-Allis decals. Serial would make it a 1984. Was it a carry-over
machine that was re-badged?
Thinking it should be a nice step up from our 1978 M2. Books say early M2
had 4667 cleaning area and L3 has 6206. We have had trouble with belly-
ache in 200+ bushel corn, hills and 6-30 head on the M2. Hopefully this will
help with the indigestion.
It will need the tattle-tale module that allows automatic auger swing and I
would also like to find a set of mud shields for both sides of the thresher and
hydro drive areas if anyone has them lying around. Located in NE Iowa.
