Prairie Dog, Welcome to the world of Gleaners. You have made a good choice in brands.Your question reguarding cylinder bars. Are the leading edge of all the cylinder bar teeth rounded to about half of the tooth or more?If so,you either need to turn the cylinder bars or if they have been turned, you will need to replace them.If you need to replace them,I would suggest going with AGCO's aggressive wide space cylinder bars for green stem or weedy soybeans and corn.(Price $650.00)Also check your concave bars that are bolted to the rockdoor and under the cylinder for wear. This machine does not have a open style concave so these two items are critical in getting a good thresh. As for the cobs plugging the walkers I agree with Trent, you need to have cob screens attached to the bottom side of the waffles of the walkers.(Part #71303430 8 required)
Then make sure your walkers are slid back for both corn and soybeans.(If shoe tends to get overloaded, then move walkers back forward slightly.)As Trent mentioned, make sure you have the long tooth chaffer in for corn(1 5/8").Another modification you can do to the chaffer for hillside capacity is add another lever to chaffer and run a piece of metal forward to front 6 rows of louvers.Cut the front six rows of louvers loose and attach to metal that you have run forward. This will give you a bunch more shoe capacity.Hope this answers your question,Hyper Harvest II
P.S. Try to find a bean screen for soybeans.(Used)This way you can leave the long tooth chaffer in for both soybeans and corn. Also,no adjustment is needed with the beanscreen, you just end up with a clean sample all the time.
