Bob: I'm no expert on the K but if you have checked the obvious things at the header ie. performance and timing your retractable fingers and found nothing amis then I would start to look at your cylinder bars. If they are excessively worn they will not pull the crop material away fast enough. You may see this happening especially with some of the newer varieties that seem so have a tough stringy stem that holds it's moisture longer after maturity. New cylinder bars will help and you might consider using some of the newer types with a raised and wide space tooth.
