I am having problems with engine on 8780xp as you might have been reading-- today I changed fuel filter againand I was going to clean that screen type filter in the fuel line that runs along the right side of machine between engine and grain tank, I am believing that my problems are more electrical than fuel, however, I have my mind made I am going to put on entire wiring harness, so I was going to check this in line filter, and I started looking to see wiring harness connects, I notice that there are 2 rectangular shaped wiring connectors very close to that inline fuel filter, so I disconnected one, not really knowing what I was supposed to find, everything looked normal, so I put it back and took the other one apart, this one on the bottom about 4 of those prongs looked strange, and the inside of the connector block looked shiny like it was damp or wet, about 4 of the bottom prongs had a greenish type color, then I looked at the other end it about the same bottom 4 were pretty much all green, so I tipped that end that goes to front of machine down and some drops of water came out and they were so green it almost looked like antifreeze, so I blew it out with air to try to get moisture out as much as possible and pulled connecter block together and apart several times thinking I could get some of that green off of those contacts so maybe to get better connection, then I triedto see if it would run better and it started and ran very good, only had it running maybe half hour, but I know it was definatly a lot of my problem, I would like to know if you would have any ideas what I could do to clean off all that green from those contact points inside that connection? without buying all the wiring, there is a rubber seal around where it connects with a plastic snap to hold it but I think the moisture is getting in from the side where all the wires go into it. any ideas would be great thanks.
