I put a 920 JD flex head on my 850 last summer. Does your 200 series head really have a pet.(dialamatic) or reed switches. If it has reed switches ( older style) You can just cut off the JD plug and hook it to the Massey plug. If it is really dialamatic you have two options. Cut off the JD plug and pick the right three wires, you have three choices for the height of cut. This way will work I was told by the Service Manager at Logan John Deere in Mitchell ON Canada; however, the switch on the header will not last all long as it should because MF and JD don't run the same voltage to there heads. Also you won't have the true dialamatic, three positions of cut height adjustable from the cab.
The other way the way we did it is go the JD dealer and buy the Dialamatic box, wiring harness, switch, and throat cut out switch about $650.00 Can. And wire it in. It is fairly simple to do and works fantastic!!!!!! I left the MF system intact and added the JD system so I can use a MF rigid head for wheat and the JD head for beans. I also had to add an accumulator to the header lift cylinders because the MF hydraulics are faster than the JD electrics can compensate the the header would bounce too much. Bought a used NH accumulator off of a TR70 at the wreckers. I am really happy with the way it works only regret is I didn't do it sooner.
