repairs on 96c Cornhead

I have a 2001 8row 96C Cornhead that has about 5-6000 ac on it now.

The stalk rolls are rounded of quite a bit and I was thinking about moving the left roll to the right side of the row and vice versa.

The other option is to weld them up at the front.

What have most of you guys done in the past?

Also how many acres (years) do the gathering chains and front idlers last?
